About whereschool

A free college search for students who care about the stuff the big rankings leave out: what the weather is like all year, whether you can play your sport, how much merit aid your grades could earn, how big Greek life is, and how easy it is to study abroad.

How to use it

  1. Filter. Set how hot is too hot, the sports you want to play, your GPA, a field you might study, and the rest. Schools that don't fit drop away.
  2. Save. Tap ☆ Save on any school. Give it a status like "Want to visit," a star rating, and notes.
  3. Compare. Tick Compare on two to four saved schools to see them side by side.
  4. Research with friends. Start a group and send the six-letter code to friends. You'll see each other's lists and ratings, and "Also saved by" on school cards.

Accounts and privacy

You can use everything except groups without an account. Saved schools then stay in that browser only. An account keeps your list on every device.

What we store
Your first name, email, and the schools you save with their status, rating and notes. Also the groups you join.
Who sees it
Only you. People in your groups see your first name, saved schools, statuses and ratings. They see a note only if you tick "Let my groups read this note."
What we don't do
No ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider, Supabase, and are never visible to us.
Leaving
Choose Delete account at the top of the search page. Your account, list and notes are erased right away.

Where the data comes from

Numbers change every year and some are estimates. Check a school's own pages before you decide anything. where.school isn't affiliated with any college.
